MIXED MEDIA / DISCARDED ART 1
Discarded Beauty challenges the way we look at art and the world around us. In a society built on convenience and disposability, this mixed media piece asks a quiet but powerful question: If beauty appeared in unexpected, overlooked places… would we even notice it?
Framed in bold, industrial yellow, the work immediately demands attention, like a caution sign or a marker of something abandoned. Beneath the surface, layered circular forms and expressive, fragmented brushstrokes suggest remnants, echoes, and pieces left behind. The composition feels both structured and disrupted, mirroring the tension between order and waste, intention and neglect.
Created using mixed media techniques and finished with Perspex plastic, the glossy surface adds depth, reflection, and a contemporary edge. The Perspex layer enhances the textures beneath it, inviting the viewer to move, look closer, and see shifting details depending on light and perspective. It becomes interactive, much like the act of rediscovering something once discarded.
